Step-by-Step SHSAT Lessons

Self-paced
Inside the dashboard

Best for

7th graders and 8th graders building topic-by-topic mastery.

160+ structured lessons that walk students through every SHSAT subtopic in the order they should learn it. Each lesson is short (5 to 15 minutes), focused, and ends with a quick check so students know they actually got it.

What you get

  • All 41 SHSAT subtopics, evenly split between math and ELA
  • Short, focused lessons (5 to 15 minutes each) that fit into a busy week
  • Math track: algebra, geometry, ratios, statistics, number sense, word problems
  • ELA track: revising/editing standalone, revising/editing passage, reading comprehension
  • Each lesson ends with a quick comprehension check before moving on
  • Track-based ordering so units unlock as the student completes the prior one

Adaptive

Targeted Practice (Drills)

10 to 15 min / session
Inside the dashboard

Best for

Students who know their weak spots and want to grind them down.

Adaptive practice that targets exactly the subtopic, difficulty, and question type a student is missing. The dashboard analyzes every answer and routes the next drill to the area where it will move the score the most.

What you get

  • Filter by subtopic, section (math/ELA), and difficulty (easy / medium / hard)
  • All 41 subtopics available as standalone drill targets
  • Bookmark and eliminate wrong answers during a session
  • Resume any time, progress is saved automatically
  • Per-skill accuracy and trend lines tracked after every drill
  • Best for 15-minute focused sessions between mock exams

10 full-length mock exams (1,140 questions total) blueprint-accurate to the digital SHSAT, plus an Adaptive Exam that mirrors the Fall 2026 computer-adaptive format. Same 180-minute window, same digital question types. Auto-scored on submission with detailed analytics and a Skills Snapshot.

What you get

  • 10 full-length practice tests (Forms A through J)
  • 114 questions each (extra practice beyond the real test's 100), timed at 180 minutes
  • All 11 digital-only question types appear in the right proportion
  • Auto-scored on submission with scaled score and percentile estimate
  • Skills Snapshot after every attempt shows recommended focus areas

Digital-only

Digital-Only Question Practice

5 to 15 min / drill
Inside the dashboard

Best for

Any student. The 11 interactive question types appear on the real SHSAT and are completely absent from printed textbooks.

A dedicated drill section for the 11 interactive question types that only exist in the digital SHSAT: matrix sort, drag-to-table, inline insertion, single target drag, inline dropdown, multi select, drag-to-expression, interactive graph, interactive number line, radio button matrix, and hot text. Practice each format in isolation until it is reflexive.

What you get

  • All 11 digital-only question types, drilled in isolation
  • Mixed-mode drills once each format is reflexive
  • The single highest-leverage drill for students who have only ever practiced on paper
  • No install, no device restriction. Practice on any laptop or Chromebook
  • Detailed explanations after every question, including why the wrong answers are wrong

Recommended study workflow

How most students use the platform together

The four tracks are designed to work together. Here is the workflow our analytics team has seen produce the largest mock exam gains.

  1. 1

    Baseline mock exam

Take Form A under timed conditions to establish your starting score and Skills Snapshot.

  2. 2

    Drill the weak subtopics

Use Targeted Practice to drill the exact subtopics your Skills Snapshot flagged as weak.

  3. 3

    Drill the digital formats

Spend 5 minutes a session on Digital-Only Question Practice so the interactive types become reflexive.

  4. 4

    Re-test every 2 to 4 weeks

Take the next Form, watch your score climb, repeat. Most families do 4 to 6 mock exams before November.

All four tracks, one subscription

Every plan includes the lessons, the targeted drills, all 10 mock exams, and the digital-only section. Three plans tied to the SHSAT calendar.
